June 22 2025 The Kansas City Hormigas defeated the Trinidad Triggers 17-13 at Satchel Paige, overcoming a 13-run effort from Trinidad with 14 hits. Kansas City built an early 10-4 lead through four innings, added six runs in the seventh and held on after Trinidad scored four times in the ninth. The Hormigas finished with one error while the Triggers committed two.
Miguel Tejada led Kansas City with two hits and five RBI, while Rames Velasquez went 2-for-4 with three RBI and three runs scored. Devin Radar added two hits, two RBI and two runs, and Matt Dileonardo went 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs. The Hormigas’ home run list included two each by Velasquez and Tejada, along with homers by Zachary Trangmar, David Hendrick, Radar and Dileonardo.
Trinidad’s Sean Connolly went 2-for-3 with four runs and two RBI, and Carlos Urias drove in four runs despite collecting one hit. Chris Viamonte added one hit and two RBI. Kansas City starter Jacob Strobel earned the win after allowing nine runs on four hits in 4.2 innings, with 10 walks and two strikeouts. Dileonardo followed with 3.1 innings of relief, allowing one unearned run on two hits while striking out four, and Jacob Slocomb worked the ninth.
