The Hormigas will remain in Kansas City on Sundays and move all other home games and operations to Iola, Kansas. "With 90% of the games and practices being played in Iola, we had to contribute Iola in the team name of Branding. Iola"s ballpark is black and red so this will fit perfectly." says Andrew Dunn of the Pecos League.

Kansas City Hormigas move their headquarters and weekday games to Iola, Kansas. The Hormigas will remain in Kansas City at Satchel Paige for their Sunday Games only. All Spring Training and the Monday-Tuesday home games will be moved to Allen county.

Iola is the county seat of Allen County, Kansas, United States. The city is situated along the Neosho River in southeast Kansas. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 5,396. It is named in honor of Iola Colborn, the wife of Josiah Colborn, one of the town"s founders. Iola is the county seat of Allen County, Kansas located approximately 110 miles east of Wichita via U.S. 54Hwy; 105 miles south of Kansas City, Kansas; 155 miles west of Springfield, Missouri; and 140 miles north of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Two major U.S. highways, both U.S. 54 Hwy. and U.S. 169 Hwy. are the main routes to our city. These major roadways intersect at the east city limits.

Kansas City Missouri fired their city manager last week and it is unknown if the current administration will support the Hormigas project going forward. For the 2025 season the Hormigas are committed to playing Sunday Games in historic Satchel Paige Stadium.

For their inaugural 2025 season, the Kansas City Hormigas will feature a live band at all Sunday Home Games. The Band will be know as the Banda de Hormiga Morada and will be based as a Mariachi Band but will also feature different Genres including Banda, Rancheras and Ballads. The Band we wear special edition El Morado Game Jerseys for the games.

He is no stranger to the Pecos League as he managed the Austin Weirdos in 2023 and 2024. "It will be great to get going to Kansas City" says Derick.

They feature Pecos League Logo on the back neck, Hormigas Logo on one sleeve and the Missouri Flag and KCMO on the other sleeve.
